Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Amberline ("the Service"), operated at www.amberline.app.

These terms should be reviewed by a qualified solicitor before relying on them as your legal agreement.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Amberline is a certificate and expiry date tracking tool. You can add certificates, assign them to people or properties, set expiry dates, and receive automated email reminders before they lapse.

Amberline is not a compliance, legal, or regulatory advisory service. We provide a tracking tool only. It is your responsibility to ensure your certificates and licences are valid and compliant with applicable laws and regulations. We do not verify, validate, or guarantee the accuracy of any certificate data you enter.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You must not share your account or allow others to access it without authorisation.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Free and Paid Tiers

  • Free tier: Up to 3 certificates, 1 user, default reminder schedule.
  • Pro and Business tiers: Additional features and higher limits as described on our Pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Free tier features may be adjusted, but we will not remove access to certificates you have already added.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Upload malicious files, scripts, or content designed to disrupt the Service.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload the Service.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.

6. Your Data

You retain ownership of the data you add to Amberline. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page.

7. Intellectual Property

The Amberline name, logo, and service design are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We are not liable for any missed reminders, expired certificates, or consequences arising from reliance on the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

9. Disclaimers

  • Amberline does not provide legal, compliance, or regulatory advice.
  • Reminder emails are sent on a best-effort basis. Email delivery depends on third-party services and your email provider.
  • We do not guarantee 100% uptime. We will make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available but may experience downtime for maintenance or unforeseen issues.

10. Termination

  • You may close your account at any time from the Settings page.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
  • On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
